1. OVERVIEW

Eligma is an AI-driven and blockchain-based cognitive commerce platform that aims to change the way people discover, purchase, track and resell items online. Accordingly to the team, one of the main platform advantages you will get is faster search for personalised best offer, where directly you save your time and money. Also, it will offer users a “one-place” from where they can shop in all the online stores anywhere in the world, check the value of items in their household and learn the best time to sell them. On top of that, users will have opportunity to pay in crypto or fiat and be part of decentralised loyalty program where user can choose the place to spend loyalty tokens. Also very interested fact that AI learning is going to start upon ICO end in BTC city, the biggest shopping centre in Slovenia. This project is coming from Slovenia and most of the team members are from same country. It is worth to notice that we are talking about above average team in terms of 29 people involved and experience they are bringing with them. Eligma´s CEO Dejan Roljic founded most famous Slovenian ABC accelerator, co-founder Matej Gregorcic recently led the Viberate team through very successful ICO, and second co-founder Joze Mermal has been successfully managing the BTC company. Not to mention 13 advisors with strong international connections and AI expertise. One of them is Andy Baynes who worked in strategic business roles at Sony, Apple and Nest directly with people like Steve Jobs, Tim Cook, Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers. Matej Gregorcic – cofounder:

  • CEO of Viberate – startup which had successful ICO in 2017. generating $10 million in less than 5 minutes
  • his experience from marketing industry and Viberate is a valuable asset to Eligma team
  • his involment gives an extra factor more to believe that team can achieve desired hard cap

Jože Mermal – cofounder:

  • highly experienced manager with 25+ years of experience in BTC managing – one of the largest business, shopping, entertainment, recreation and cultural centres in Europe

Aleksandar Danilov – CTO:

Boštjan Mrak – Lead Machine Learning Engineer:

  • according to his LinkedIn profile, he is one of the pioneers of AI in Slovenia
  • 15+ years of experience in software development which indicates high level of expertise
  • according to posts from LinkedIn, his involvement in the project is very important due to machine learning experience and impact he can have to entire technological team

  • his AI experience and expertise connected with CTO˛`s background seems like a good foundation for technological development of the platform

Overall opinion:

  • Eligma as a project has very strong aspirations to change world of commerce using blockchain and AI technology. CEO is a truly visionary entrepreneur who has already exciting and respected entrepreneurial journey. Team has potential but time will tell if goals can be fulfilled. Therefore, key statement here is – if you want to invest, you are investing in the team who needs to deliver on its promise.

  • e-commerce is one of the fastest growing industries globally and even if Eligma takes a small portion of the global e-commerce industry, it will be considered extremely successful
  • strong team and quality advisors
  • already planned good implementation test with BTC city (Slovenia)
  • one account to access the benefits of all online stores connected to Eligma platform
  • ELIpay gateway gives all non-crypto stores the possibility to accept crypto as stores at the end will get FIAT money

CONS:

  • currently below radar due to unknown reasons
  • very ambitious project with a lot of potential problems
  • roadmap shows larger period of time taken for project development on the bright side it is better to have more time if some complications in future development occur but risk of competition with better idea is inevitable
  • the whitepaper is lengthy and provides enough information about the proposed product, but doesn’t go deeper into the technical details

4. COMPETITION

  • there are also crypto projects like Ink protocol and Shopin which are offering segments of Eligma (for example data privacy, ability to pay with tokens, loyalty bonuses etc.)
  • companies like Amazon and eBay have will new browsing flows for users to see relevant items unique to them, based on their shopping behaviour. Also, columns like, Frequently bought together etc. then again it is not direct competition because Eligma can be sales channel for them

5. CONCLUSION

When we talk about potential of this project we need to look few years in the future. The challenge we see here is quite brave roadmap and all technology features are needed to be implemented. Team also looks very promising and without any doubts they will do their best to avoid bad reputation. At the end, current problem of big online product diversity, which has enormous potential for growth in the future, is the right way to search for solution.
